Verified Circulation
In order to qualify for membership in the Atlantic Community Newspapers Association, a newspaper's circulation must be audited. This audit requirement is an advertiser's assurance that our member circulation figures are reliable. The majority of our member newspapers choose to participate in the Verified Circulation (VC) Program. It is a comprehensive newspaper auditing system designed for the community press in Canada.

We would be pleased to provide agencies and advertisers with the latest audited circulation numbers for our member newspapers.

There are three types of membership in the VC program: VCP, VCC and VC Applied.

VCP (Verified Circulation Paid): is for members with at least 70% paid circulation. "Paid" in this case is defined as a minimum subscription rate of $12.00/year.

VCC (Verified Circulation Controlled): is for members who do not have 70% paid circulation, but nevertheless distribute over a specific market area on a regular and ongoing basis.

VC Applied Membership: Applicants may receive this status by submitting to the CCNA an Applied Status report, which consists of three months of circulation figures along with back-up documentation, within six months of their application date. VC Applied Membership status is granted when the report is verified by CCNA.
